The tenth International Lighthouse Weekend intends to raise the profile of lighthouses, lightvessels and other navigational aids, promoting our maritime heritage. Many lighthouses and places of associated interest will be open to the public, and there will be special events at lighthouses and lightvessels both at home and abroad. There will be radio and press publicity before the event. Trusts and Friends groups will be able to use this day to raise awareness of their work and involvement in the preservation of the history of lightkeeping. If you would like to be involved, please let us know, so we can publicise your event. |
Please note that opening times vary from lighthouse to lighthouse, and some may not be open all of the time, and that height, age or access restrictions may also be in place, so you are strongly advised to check with the relevant visitor centre in advance to confirm details. The ALK cannot be held responsible for any errors, omissions or last minute changes. |
